
Key Descriptions of the Vestry
First, the vestry assists the Rector in the spiritual leadership of the church. They keep Holy Trinity focused on the vision and mission that God has given us. This happens through thoughtful discussion and planning at our monthly meetings but also through everyday interactions with the people of Holy Trinity.
Examples of Spiritual Leadership:
Second, the vestry is responsible for the oversight of the business affairs of the church or what some call temporal affairs. The church, from the worlds perspective, is a business that has much the same needs as any other business. We have bills, taxes, property maintenance and budgets just like all other businesses.

Key Requirements to be a member of the Vestry of Holy Trinity

- Promotes the mission and vision that God has given Holy Trinity
- Lives as an example of of a sinner saved by the grace of God
- Has the heart of a servant
- Advocates for Christian unity and charity
- Influences others towards a deeper commitment to Christ

- Create and approve the annual budget
- Give oversight for church investments
- Care for the property of the church
- Organize financial campaigns
- Encourage others to give of their time, talent and treasure joyfully to the mission of Christ
Key Requirements to be a member of the Vestry of Holy Trinity
- Submit to the Canons of the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA) and the Diocese of Western Anglicans and the bylaws of Holy Trinity Anglican Parish
- Exemplify the “responsibilities of the Laity” Title I, Canon 10, Section 1,2 of the Canons of the ACNA
- View the Ministry Safe Training online and pass the Ministry Safe questionnaire
- Commit to attend and participate in monthly meetings and other service to the church as needed
- Commit to attend a vestry one day retreat and weekend retreat
