The Vision of Holy Trinity
Holy Trinity is a family of believers who are being transformed by the love of Jesus Christ.
Family
Family is important. Jesus brings us into his family through his sacrifice and our adoption by our heavenly Father. As a family we look to our heavenly Father, the only begotten Son and the Holy Spirit to understand what it means to live as the family of God.
Intergenerational
Families are intergenerational and so Holy Trinity seeks to be intentional in its reach to all ages and life stages. Being young or old, single, married, having children or widowed we all have a place and a call in God’s family. We need each other to be the one body of Christ.
Formative
Families are formative through living life together. Jesus loved and formed his disciples by teaching them while living life with them. We are called to imitate Jesus as we grow up in His family. Living as a part of God’s family means committing to a particular way of life. God has created us to reflect his image, much like you might see the traits of a father when looking at a son. The family of God seeks to grow into the character and virtue of Christ.
The discipleship ministry of Jesus took place in the synagogue on the Sabbath, but also around dinner tables, drinking wells, boats, weddings, funerals, city streets, at job sites and all the normal everyday places of life. Holy Trinity seeks to be a family community that lives life together in a particular and intentional way.
Generous
Families are generous in service. The primary way of serving at Holy Trinity is through joining a service team. Many of these teams serve on Sunday mornings such as acolytes, readers, ushers, greeters, choir. Many teams serve beyond Sundays, such as our pastoral care, vestry, altar guild, small group leaders, loaves and fishes. Scheduling is done quarterly. We welcome people to try a team for a quarter, and even to change teams from one quarter to the next.
Families are generous in giving. The giving of our financial resources to the church is an expression of sacrificial love which reflects and imitates God’s generosity. At Holy Trinity our desire is that all members give generously and cheerfully to the local church as well as to other ministries.
